My Projects is the page where all the projects that you create, manage or own will be listed.
Click the New Project button in the My Projects page.
In the new project page, there are three sections.
Client is the project client’s name. This field will auto-suggest the client based on the clients already created by you in the Pulse database.
If no client is found, it will suggest that you create a new client.
Once you finish typing the new client’s name and press Create Client, it will create a new client and select the client for this project.
If the project has no client, you leave it blank.
The name you give here is the project name which will be shown wherever the project is referred.
Project start date is when the project is started in the organization, It is optional you can also leave it blank.
Specify the frequency with which the project repeats. This is used for reporting purposes.
Project Owner is like the head of the project, this person will have full editing access to this project. Project Owner is mandatory field.
Project leader is like operational head of the project. He can only edit the team members in the project. Project Leader is a mandatory field. The project owner can be the project leader as well.
Hitting the “Next” button will take you to the team section.
In team section, we can add or remove project members (people who work on this project). There is also an option to select common project or not.
A Common project is a project which will appear in the timesheet of all the members in the organization.
To add members to a project, start typing the name of the people who you want to add in the text box. Once you find the people you want, select them and they will get added to the project.
If you accidentally added someone and want to remove them hover over their name and click the trash icon.
If you want to grant approver access to someone in the team, hover over their name and click the approver button. As approver, they can approve all the time entries booked on this project except the time entries of the leader and the owner.
Removing approver access is the same process as granting approver access.
Press the Next Button to go the Time Estimate page.
Time Estimate is section where tasks related to the project are added to the project. These are the tasks on which the time can be booked.
On the left pane, we select the tasks we want in this project. Once a task is selected it will be displayed on the right side. We can uncheck it by clicking its name on the left side or also clicking the trash icon on the right side.
After selecting a task, we can enter the time we expect to spend on this task by clicking the selected task.
These expected hours can also be configured to have default time. To know more about time, pay scale and standard rate see the section Task and Standard Rate.
After selecting the tasks, click the “Save Time Estimate and finish” button. Now the project is published and will appear in the team’s timesheet.
Draft projects are the unpublished projects where the creator of the project has not entered all the details.
The drafts can be found by clicking continue from where you left
link near the new project button.
To continue with the draft, just click on the link.
To edit an existing project, go to my projects and select the project you want to edit. Only the project owner and project creator are allowed to edit after the project is created. The project leader can only edit the Team section.
Project owner is the admin of the project, he will have full access to edit the project and also can approve time for all members in the project including his own time.
Project leader is like a operational admin for the project and he can add or remove members to a project. He can approve time for all approvers and his own but cannot approve project owner time.
Approver will have the permission to approve time for the members in the project except project leader, owner and other approvers.
Archive a project is like deactivating a project after it is completed. Once archived, people cannot book time on a project and it will no longer appear in the “My projects” list.
To archive a project, go to the My Projects page, and from there, go to your project. In the project page, the link to archive a project is present at the top right corner.
To view all the Archived Projects, click the link Archived Projects
in the My Projects page.
To unarchive a project, click the Unarchive it
link the top- right corner of the project page. The project is now unarchived and is available for time entry and will be appearing in my projects
list.
